If your hardwood chair is exposed to the sun and rain you will need to maintain the protective coating on the hardwood timber. How often you do this is dependant on how much exposure the timber gets to the sun and elements but generally you would do this when the surface is starting discolour or has small cracks in the surface.
So what’s the best way to do this….
Firstly the chair needs to be dry and clean lightly sand the timber with a 120 grit paper if it is stained or discoloured, otherwise you can just apply more oil to the clean dust free surface.
Make sure the chair is on a protective sheet to avoid spills and in a well ventilated spot, wear rubber cloves to protect your skin. It’s a good idea to also wear safety glasses .

Timber Seal by Lanotec (Updated June 2021)
A 25mm paint brush
Sponge and soapy water
Timber Seal is Lanolin based so is compatible with solvent based coatings that may have been previously applied. Simply apply the oil to the timber and rub it into the timber leaving it wet on the surface. The Lanolin will soak into the timber over a couple of hours. When it no longer looks wet, buff the timber with a rag to remove the greasy film and it has a matt finish and feels smooth
